Seven Ponds Nature Center is excited to offer this very special opportunity to bird Pointe Mouillee! Normally, access to this huge state game area is limited to birding by foot or bicycle, which can be quite daunting considing the miles upon miles of open road. Pointe Mouillee is a haven for shorebirds and wading birds, and often harbors some of the state’s rarest vagrants. Our group will be led by one of Michigan’s most experienced and well-traveled birders: Jim Fowler, who has led many auto tours through Pointe Mouillee. We will gather in the parking lot at Sigler Road at 7:45 AM for a 8:00 AM departure into the state game area. Our tour will last approximately four hours. The tour is limited to four vehicles, so we will need a couple people willing to drive large capacity vehicles (5-7 passengers). Participants are responsible for their own transportation to Pointe Mouillee, and must be in the Sigler Road parking lot by 7:45 AM for check-in. Space is limited, and this tour is very likely to fill quickly.
